Eight Years with Movistar Riders and KOI: A Farewell

The Journey

Today I’m closing a very special chapter. After eight unforgettable years since joining Movistar Riders as Director of Performance, it’s time to say goodbye to Movistar KOI.

When I walked into Riders in 2017, I had no idea how profoundly this journey would shape me.

During these years, I’ve had the privilege to coach and mentor dozens of professionals such as head coaches, strategic coaches, psychologists, performance coaches, and managers across Tier 1 and Tier 2 League of Legends, CS, and Valorant teams. I’ve sat in meeting rooms at midnight strategizing, celebrated championship wins, and picked up the pieces after heartbreaking losses. Each moment sharpened my understanding of what makes a team truly win and what challenges hold ambitious squads back.

I’ve also worked alongside remarkable executives and staff, witnessing firsthand how vision, culture, and everyday habits combine to create high-performance environments. These lessons will stay with me wherever I go.

Why I’m leaving

Because growth sometimes means letting go. KOI has with a bright future, but our paths are naturally diverging. I feel it’s the right time to begin a new professional chapter.

I leave with deep affection and the certainty that I’ll cross paths again with many of the talented people I’ve been lucky to work with.

Thank you

Along the way, I’ve met extraordinary individuals and forged friendships for life. There are countless people I’d like to thank, but two stand above the rest.

  • Fernando Piquer, thank you for trusting me when I was fresh from coaching in the LEC and convincing me to become, as I like to say, a “coach of coaches.” Your belief in me made this adventure possible. You’ve built an amazing organization.

  • Luis “Resett” Filgueira, my unwavering partner in crime, thank you for fighting beside me through every battle and every success. Our shared wins are as much yours as mine.

What’s next?

I remain CEO of Dygma, the ergonomic keyboard startup I founded in 2017, where we continue designing and manufacturing premium products for a global community.

But the competitive spirit still drives me. With over a decade in esports and eight years leading a tech company, I’m excited to continue coaching elite esports staffs and esports executives, helping ambitious professionals reach their goals and solve the human challenges that define high-stakes competition.

I don’t yet know the exact shape of my next project, but I’m energized by the possibilities ahead and the doors that are starting to open.

Thank you, Movistar KOI, for the memories, the lessons, and the friendships.

This isn’t a goodbye to esports, it’s simply the next stage of a journey I’m grateful to continue.
